A Deserted Village

This is the first thing I wrote that I would consider being a poem. I’d written some verses and some stuff that looked like a poem but I was never really happy with them.

The poem is about a visit to Hound Tor and the abandoned village at its base. You can still see the homes and can get a real sense of the community that once lived there. At the time of writing, a popular theory was that the village had been abandoned because of an outbreak of plague, but there is now some doubt about that. Nevertheless, I hope the feeling of tranquillity comes through.
