Will Vigar

poet. writer. imposter.

Inertia (Pretty Things)

I wanted to be
an astronaut
or a Marine biologist
or an archeologist
but the sciences
were never really
my thing. I didn't
dig the discipline.

And when it all
boiled down, I found
what I really wanted
was to point
in wonder at
the pretty things
from a comfy
chair, with David

Attenborough
or Patrick Moore
as a guide; Indiana
Jones, Ben Gates
or Jaws on
the telly...
And nothing more...
Not really.

A day of ennui prompted this. Not my best but laden with pathos and just dull enough to be exciting.

(Extra points for knowing what the picture is from….)
